You don’t have to sacrifice production with these ornamental birds; Wyandottes are very a much dual purpose breed. They are good layers of 3-4 medium to large sized brown eggs weekly and have a broad, muscular body and are a dual-purpose breed. Wyandottes are a friendly and gentle breed. While Wyandottes are a calm breed, they generally don’t enjoy being picked up and carried around. Think of them like a typical housecat! Toward other chickens, they tend to be at the top of the pecking order, probably in part due to their broad bodies and heavy weight.
